BEWARE OF HIGH SAP CONTENT LOGS! - Natural Heating / Norfolk

No matter how experienced you are with wood burners, every day can be a school day! About a year ago, we have come across something very peculiar when our showroom display HWAM 4640C wood burning stove was burning out of control shortly after refueling. This was out of the ordinary, as we have always stocked up on kiln dried wood from a local supplier for many years without any issue and always check the moisture content of our logs.  We chalked it up as a one time strange occurance and didn't think any of it. Until... it happened a second time!  This time, we had the second part of the log and were able to figure out what was causing the issue...  As you can see in the photo above, the log had an abnormally high content of sap which would have been undetected had we not split it beforehand. On the outisde, it seemed unassuming however the weight of the log was a giveaway that something was not quite right. The woodman informed us that if a tree is cut late winter, he thinks the sa

CHOOSE YOUR NEW STOVE CAREFULLY - DON'T TRUST PHOTOS! - Natural Heating / Norfolk

We are a stove shop and stockists for a good number of leading brands. However, make aside.. I’m very passionate about what I do. People have all different tastes when it comes to aesthetic designs. However, I have burned all the different stove model ranges that we hold here in our shop. If it doesn’t make my grade in terms of what it offers for functionality, safety or price point.. I quite literally won’t sell it here in my shop. If I wouldn’t buy it, why should you ? It’s not all about a sale. You cannot make the wrong thing right. It’s important to visit your local stove shop and ask questions.. touch and feel the stoves.. work out what you NEED and how many boxes each of those stoves tick. Some stoves will suit some people and not others. I’m very particular about door handles for certain customers … Visitors are ALWAYS welcome here at Natural Heating. We have a large range of wood burning and multi fuel stoves here in stock and on display. Main brands include : Cha

HWAM 4620C - DEFRA Approved, Eco Design 2022 Wood Burner/ Multifuel Stove - Natural Heating / Norfolk

Hwam 4620c - 7kw wood burning stove (3 > 10kw approx range to the room) This is currently one of my top two all time favourite wood burning stove models. The simple, contemporary style of this range fits right in whether you have a more older traditional or newer modern home. One thing the Danish do EXCEPTIONALLY well is stove door handles and mechanisms. They're just a different class.... and you can tell the difference even with your eyes shut. You just KNOW it's Scandinavian built from the second you open the door. The door handle never gets hot and it's just a totally different feel. This stove is suitable for freestanding just 10cm forward of internal combustible walls without further need for heatshielding - but is equally suited to fitting in larger fireplace openings. Just because it's quite large does not mean you'll get overloaded with heat.  There is an output range of approx 3kw to 10kw which is variable according to both the burn /draw speed you se

Clock Blithfield 5kw - DEFRA Approved, Eco Design 2022 Wood Burning Stove - Natural Heating / Norfolk

Clock Blithfield 5kw Fabulous, British made stove, manufacturerd in Nottingham. The Clock Blithfield 5 is well renowned within the log burning communities of one of THE most popular wood burning and multi fuel stoves loved by customers across the whole industry. Good reasons for it. This stove has classical good looks. It looks superb in all type of houses, ranging from period cottages to modern new homes. It's timeless. Built like a brick outhouse (that's about as polite as I can put it !!!) - this stove has a seriously solid and well build construction. THE most responsive and honable air control that you'll find. The cogged (Clock) style gear system for the air controls is seriously clever. There is LOADS of travel on the air controls on this stove and you can hone it within a gnat's hair to just where you want it and it'll stay exactly there until you move it. Very low ash. What the hell does it do with the wood ? Left over ash with this stove is so mini

Termatech TT20 Streamline R (5kw) This free standing stove offers a modern contemporary look and value for money without sacrificing on quality or performance.  The large portrait-style glass gives a spectacular view of the fire - we often fit these on circular hearths to compliment the oval shape of this unit. This model is one of our firm favourites for fitting across a corner near a combustible wall. These can be fitted 100mm from the rear to combustible walling and tucks right in to maximise on room space. As standard, the Termatech stoves are fitted with an Auto Door Close function - if preferred, this feature can be removed, you can view our video on how to do this here .  This model runs well on a short (3.5m) flue system, which is ideal for bungalows and convervatories.
