THERE IS NO BAN ON WOOD BURNING STOVES (Confirmed by DEFRA).... - Natural Heating Announcement

PLEASE SEE BELOW INFO REGARDING MEDIA / PRESS AWARENESS ON WOOD BURNING AND MULTI FUEL STOVES Contrary to belief from all the worried people calling and sending us messages , NO ONE is going to take your existing stove away ! I therefore thought I'd take the time to write a memo that may help many of you. DEFRA AND THE CLEAN AIR STRATEGY HAVE CONFIRMED THAT THERE ARE NO PLANS TO BAN STOVES !!!!! All stove manufacturers are working towards new standards to be set for new stoves from 2022 and have been for a long time now. It's like high powered vacuum cleaners to some extent. You can still use it if you have one - you just can't buy a new one now to the standard of the one you PREVIOUSLY owned... so come 2022 - stoves will be made a little differently. From 2022 they'll be designed to burn hotter inside the firebox to therefore produce less dust particles in the gasses. This generally means you'll have a bit less control over the burn as it

MYTH BUSTING - Multi Fuel Stoves - NEVER Burn Wood and Solid Fuel Together (PLEASE !) - Natural Heating

BUSTING MYTHS... A multi fuel stove does NOT mean you should burn wood and solid fuel at the same time. 75% of customers visiting us who are thinking of buying a new stove actually think that a multi fuel stove means you can burn both fuel types at the same time.... Actually... you don't. Wood burns from the top down and is best burned on a bed of ash. Start with both air vents open to heat the stove and flue / chimney. The bottom one then gets closed and all control is done from the top, with the air washing down the glass to keep it cleaner longer Solid fuel on the other hand is burned on a coal grate and burns from the bottom up. The ash pan needs regular emptying to maintain the air gap UNDER the fuel. Again, you start with both vents open.... but tend to shut the top one down and control via the bottom vent. PROBLEMS The problems come when stove users MIX fuels and burn wood and solid fuel together. Both fuels burn from both the bottom AND the top at the same
