With hundreds of models on the market, it can be quite daunting when looking to purchase a new wood burning or multi fuel stove. That's why at Natural Heating, we always test each model before it makes it into our showroom. After all, if we wouldn't buy it why should you? One of our projects this year was to make this process easier, especially in warmer seasons where lighting a wood burner in our showroom isn't practical, is to have a video of each stove model lit with all the needed information. These are intended as honest with all the good and bad bits, and not your typical marketing videos made by manufacturers.  We always advise to touch and feel the stoves before purchasing - online photos may look great, but they may not be suitable for everyone.   Termatech TT20 Streamline R (5kw) This free standing stove offers a modern contemporary look and value for money without sacrificing on quality or performance.  The large portrait-style glass gives a spectacular view of the fire - we often fit these on circular hearths to compliment the oval shape of this unit. This model is one of our firm favourites for fitting across a corner near a combustible wall. These can be fitted 100mm from the rear to combustible walling and tucks right in to maximise on room space. As standard, the Termatech stoves are fitted with an Auto Door Close function - if preferred, this feature can be removed, you can view our video on how to do this here .  This model runs well on a short (3.5m) flue system, which is ideal for bungalows and convervatories. Compared to other stoves on the market, these beauties have a massive lift up cooking top, internal cooking grill (so you can cook directly over wood in the firebox) and an impressively large lower oven which can easily fit a large turkey!   This past week at Natural Heating, we have been making some BIG changes to our showroom! Along with all the stoves now being arranged based on size for easier viewing, you can now scan a QR code which takes you to our video review on that exact model!   This handy Pallet Wood Kindling Chopper is a brand new product in our Hellfire range - it allow you to create your own kindling quick and easy without the need of an axe! All you need is a flat surface to attach it to, a hammer and some pallet wood and you are ready to go. It is a hand forged steel blade on an angle with a simple minimalistic design that can be screwed onto any flat surface of your choice - here at Natural Heating , we have our Kindling Chopper attached to a large tree stump however you can easily attach it to an old Bread board for ease of portability and storage.  We recommend pre-cutting your pallet wood into 6" to 8" (150 > 200mm) lengths and then giving a whack with a lump hammer or claw hammer. A nice sharp tap with a hammer works best - once you get into a rhythm, it's really quick and easy... plus it's a whole lot of fun!  Having the pallet wood on top and hitting with a hammer eliminates the risk of an axe bouncing off a knot. Sarah-Jane  is seen Power sweeping (with the Rodtech system) the twin wall flue system up the inside of the chimney of a thatched house... connected to a Hunter Hawk 4 wood burning stove This stove was actually a multi fuel originally - but was converted to wood only a few years back View of up the inside of the flue with cctv camera including the insider top of the spark arrestor cowl. Spark arrestors are actually no longer advised on thatched properties and are now believed a hazard as they are prone to blockages and becoming a fire hazard This one is in good condition and nice and clean. Check with your insurance as if you have a spark arrestor on a thatched property, many insist that it be removed.
